Paediatric Complex Care Nurse — Part-Time Days, Milltown, Co. Kildare
Nurse
Part Time
Kildare / Ireland
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8am to 4pm. One teenager, at home.
There is a 16-year-old in Milltown who lives at home with their family rather than in hospital. That is only possible because a nurse is with them during the day, and we need one more.
This is one-to-one nursing in a family home. You would care for the same young person on every shift, know their routine, their humour and their bad days, and be the person their parents trust enough to go to work.
The hours
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8am to 4pm
- 24 hours a week, three fixed days [TO CONFIRM: the days are fixed]
- No nights, no weekends, and the rest of your week is your own
Why this role is worth a look
- Three set days. If you reduced your hours for family, or are winding down before retirement, this fits around the life you already have
- One patient, not a ward. Time to do the job properly
- Every nurse gets full training in tracheostomy care, epilepsy and PEG feeding. You do not need it on day one
- Continuity. You will know this teenager and this family for as long as you want the case
- A Clinical Nurse Manager at the end of the phone on every shift
Requirements
- RGN, RCN or RNID with active NMBI registration
- Comfortable working alone in a family home
- A full driving licence is preferred. Milltown sits between Newbridge and Kildare town and the bus does not pass the door
What we offer
- Full clinical training and induction before your first shift
- Ongoing support and supervision from the paediatric nursing team
